Tellin it like it is....

(via CNN)
Former President Jimmy Carter said Tuesday that racial politics played a role in South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson's outburst during President Obama's speech to Congress last week.

Bang this for the full article

I currently reside in the South, and I have never experienced blatant racism before until  I migrated South from up North (New Jersey). Since our nation has the first "black" or African-American president racist have been coming out the wood work. It's a shame after how far we have come as a country that there is still this level of hatred towards different races, and as of recent (evidence seen on twitter) this epidemic is being passed down to the younger generations too. Sad, but will it ever end? I hope...

Lil Mama and her F-ed State of Mind

The 2009 Mtv VMA's were full of a bunch of surprises and foolishness from beginning to end, and coming to finish off the stunt of all stunts was Lil Man, I mean Mama.

About 40 seconds before Jay-Z and Alicia Key's performance to "Empire State", off his new Blueprint 3 album, was over the camera pans out to show the audience, and if you look hard enough you see a figure walking onto the stage on the left side of the screen. It's Lil Mama...

Bang that for the video...

CLEARLY she didn't get the memo that it is NEVER cool to jump on the stage, uninvited, while fellow artists are performing. She also didn't get the memo that she doesn't have the proper credentials to breathe on the same stage as Jay-z and Alicia Keys musically, and apparently she never realized Jay-z was less then impressed with her presence.

At the 24 second mark he says into the mic, "Oh you T-pain-ing now", in reference to the same stunt the man with the most success off a voicebox T-Pain pulled at 2009 Summer Jam in NYC.

After this stunt Lil Mama become the butt of all jokes, even over Kanye, on twitter...Alicia Keys even joined in on the fun. She tweeted this pic saying "Look ya'll Lil Mama...at it again!"

And rapper Fabolous made #Lilmamais a trending topic on twitter within a matter of minutes.
He's hilarious...

I waited to post on this because I knew there was going to be a Lil' Mama apology on the way...Here it is...

Bang that for the video...

Apology or not, Lil Mama you embarrassed the hell out of yourself, AND messed up every still shot of Jay-z and Alicia Key's end to their performance. FAIL!

Lil Mama leaked a song titled "See Me Everywhere"...Go figure

Team Kanye!

I won't retract any statements that I made about Kanye West and his performance on the VMA's on Sunday, regarding his interruption of country artist Taylor Swift's acceptance speech (see previous post), but I will say after watching Kanye apologize for the third time for his actions I understand his move. There's normally a method to Kanye's madness, but it usually get's overshadowed by his initial action, and this time was no different.

check the video:

Honestly, I was getting tired of Kanye apologizing for what he did. I mean if your going to be balls-e enough to do something like that then stick to your guns, but after watching this brief interview I realized Kanye is like a lot of people I know. Passionate about the things that they believe in.

And wtf was really good with Jay Leno asking about his deceased mother? Completely irrelevant...Kanye your in my prayer's. Remember "misunderstood ain't gotta be explained"...

*word is that President Obama called Kanye a jackass off air, and his statement was tweeted then deleted by an ABC reporter...all I  can do is smh at this one*

Check the performance of  "Run this town"

I promise I wasn't really checking for this song...only Ye's part, but after watching a live performance of it...I'm a fan...Loved Rhi-Rhi's vocals much better live then on wax...

Let's Stay Together *Nas & Kelis*

First and foremost Happy Belated Birthday to Nas who turned 37 yesterday (Sept. 14)!!!!

It has been reported that rapper Nas and his recently divorced wife Kelis were seen in NYC club Marquee kissing and hugged up. The pair recently celebrated the birth of their first son, Knight, along with major court battles over alimony and child support.

I've always enjoyed these two as a couple, and I wish them the best. I hope the can work it out for baby Knight's sake.

Changed Man???

This morning Chris Brown sent a link via twitter to a video that features pictures of him and his former girlfriend Rhianna with his new song "Changed Man".

Check the video:

Chris tweeted this a couple seconds later...

I honestly feel bad for him. While, I don't condone the battery or assault of women, or anybody for that matter, I think this whole Chris Brown & Rhianna situation has been blown up by the media terribly, and not for purposes of awareness against abuse. That's wack. Everybody is a critic when the spotlight isn't on them. I'm pretty sure most of the "anti-Chris Brown" haters, if given the opportunity to dig into their past there would be things that surfaced about them that are less then admirable. In saying this I wish Chris & Rhianna the best of luck with their love, life, & career, and hopefully the rest of the world can move on as they are currently trying to do.

Bring'em Out, Bring'em Out *Twitter Edition*

With twitter becoming the most popular way for "regular" people or, fans to interact with "celebrities" there were plenty of words being thrown around from both sides of the fence about the tomfoolery that was displayed by Kanye West at last night's VMA's.

I ran across a couple of retweets that said type in Kanye West and N*gger in the search box, so I did, and what do you know...Take a look at what popped up:

This is probably one of the most distrubing things I've seen since that can of soda being sold in Target last week...Lynched tho? SMDH...Yes Kanye was waaayyyy out of line for interupting that little girl's acceptance speech, but these comments are a bit much...I guess having a Black President doesn't change the mentality of the ignorant. What they don't realize is statements like the ones above makes them a "n*gger" too. IGNORANT!
Maybe there's a method to Mr. West's madness...hmmmmm
*Btw Taylor Swift didn't thank Ms. Beyonce at all for allowing her to get back a piece of the moment Kanye took away*

They F*cking...

This morning at around 4 o' clock diddy twitpic-ed this photo of his boo boo baby boo boo boo Cassie...I guess he had to show his shorty some love since NOBODY was checkin for her tonight...

Her hair actually looks alright, her dress is cute, but that bag with them shoes....nu-uh...

*Music Monday* Jeremih- Break up to Make up

Im not really sure if I'm feelin this...it sounds a little Sean Kingston meets Dream...ehhhh...Maybe it will grow on me...maybe not...

FAIL! Kanye's acting up...AGAIN

Kanye West does it again. During the 2009 Mtv VMA's while country singer Taylor Swift was accepting her award for best female video, Kanye West's drunk ass gets on stage and grabs the mic out of her hands, and says:

"I'm sorry, but BeyoncĂ© had one of the best videos of all time"
This was Taylor swifts first time at the VMA's and her first moonman ever. (Did you see Beyonce's face when they cut the camera to her...EMBRASSED)

SMDH...like Ye's big brother Jigga said..."they like the drunk uncle in your family, you know they lame, you ashamed but you love them the same" -Dear Summer

After Kanye's statements twitter went crazy...here are some of the reactions from some celebrities:

Pink (who was also nominated in the category):

Katy Perry:

Kelly Rowland:

Beyonce later tried to clean up Kanye's mess when she accepted her award for video of the year, and brought Taylor Swift out so she could make the acceptance speech she was deprived of earlier.

Whether it was Beyonce's Pr team, or Mtv that told Beyonce to give Taylor Swift a second chance to have her moment, it was a really noble thing she did.

Kanye later released an apology to Taylor Swift, her mother, and his fans quickly after his stunt.

Oh and yes MTV kicked him and his girl right out of the VMA's. let;s see if he gets another invite. I mean he just got let back in...smh.
*Btw thank you Kanye for messing up the live stream for the folks at home trying to watch the awards. Your sporadic comments and actions f-ed up the VMA experience for many...

Congratulations!

Actress Lauren London (New-New from ATL) and rapper Lil-Wayne gave birth to her first, and his second son, Lennox, this weekend at Cedar Sinai hospital in California. This is Lil Wayne's 3rd child, and next up is Nivea, his other baby mother, who also has children by singer/song-writer The DREAM.

In other news, Christina Millian and  tacky man Dream tied the knot in Vegas last week. Rumor has it that there is no pre-nup (stupid him), and it's better reported that the two are expecting a child...
There's a lot of baby making going on...I hope they can all keep it civil...Congratulations guys!

*UPDATE* Maia Campbell and the power of prayer

Last last week, actress Maia Campbell was ridiculed after a video of her sitting in a car circulated the internet. Some sites contributed her odd behavior to drugs while others claimed she suffered from schizophrenia.  A friend of her mother Bebe Moore Campbell reached out to the website Black Web 2.0 and revealed that Maia had actually been diagnosed with bi-polar/manic depression and since substance abuse is involved, she has symptoms that are similar to schizophrenia. She also revealed that your prayers have worked as Maia Campbell is currently in treatment:
Maia is in treatment. And she said that there is hope for Maia’s recovery but the prayers of “50,000,000″ people can make the difference, because Maia doesn’t like to stay in treatment, and her treatment involves drug withdrawal as well as treatment for her disorders. She asked me to tell you that Maia’s disorders are exasperated and sent out of control by substance abuse. Pre-existing and early onset bi-polar, clinical depression and schizophrenia can be sent out of control by marijuana (the worst culprit), alcohol and of course, synthetic and street drugs. Maintain your hope for Maia’s recovery. Nancy said, “She can use her beauty, talent, and celebrity for the good of others.”

*I'm relieved that she sought out treatment , and got away from those devils that were exploiting her. Maia we're all praying for you. Get well soon Ma.*

Feeling the spirit...

Brother Franklin has me feeling the spirit on this Wednesday evening...I want to share one of my favorite Youtube videos that has me in tears every time I watch it.

This is 2009 right?

This is not a nostalgic beverage from the pre-Jim Crow era...It's currently being sold at a store near you... &

New Video: 'Angels'

Last week I posted a preview to Diddy, and his "Dirty Money Crew" featuring the late B.I.G video for the song "Angels", off his new album "Last Train to Paris" and here is the full version...

Just like I thought, the video is dope (Hype Williams directed)...too bad Diddy's singing...with auto-tune, which I thought Jay-z killed a couple months ago...

Oh and I'm still not understanding this "Dirty Money Crew" movement...maybe I'll know more when the album drops...

Sir Pee A lot is back...

Here's a video of two of my least favorite people R Kelly and Keri Hilson performing their new single "Number One" on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Personal issues aside...R Kelly is a talented, and after that D.O.A cover/diss the cutie Trey Songz did going after Kels. We'll see if the R Kelly we once knew returns (minus the videotapes). Btw...Is it just me that is not feeling Ms. Keri's stage performance (EVER)??? Justa thought...

AWESOMENESS :o)

Today at around 5 am (EST.) Chris Breezy tweeted this youtube link for extreme Gymnastics...I never even knew this existed, but now that I do...it's pretty dope...check it out:

I'm surprised the camera could keep up with the gymnast..Breezy said he's gonna try this out...I hope he youtubes that one :)

Pure Talent

I'm a little late hopping on the Ryan Leslie train, but hey it's better late then ever right?

Check out this video of him making the beat to his hit "Addiction".

He's amazing, and I absolutely love his energy, and passion for his craft.

In case you didn't no-sooo there is brains that comes with all this talent...(via Wikipedia)

...At an early age, Leslie taught himself how to play the piano. He developed the ability to recite music, as well as arrange chords to create songs. At the age of 15, Leslie scored a 1600 on his SATs - a perfect score. In 1993 he applied to four University of California campuses as well as Stanford, Yale and Harvard. In his application essays he explained his interest in matriculating from his junior year in high school without having earned a diploma. He was accepted to all except Yale. He ultimately decided to attend Harvard University. At the age of 19, Leslie graduated from Harvard with a degree in Government, concentrating in Political Science and Macroeconomics. During his commencement ceremonies, Ryan delivered the prestigious Harvard Oration...

If that wasn't enough watch him make more magic...

I also came across this video on youtube of a spoof of the video above by the Obama kid and it's HILARIOUS! Check it out:

#prayformaiacampbell

Yesterday the trending topic on twitter was #prayformaiacampbell the once "pretty face" Tiffany from the 90's LL Cool J tv series "In the house", after this near 10 minute video surfaced of her spazzin on this dude in Cali.

I've heard that Maia is suffering from a mental illness, bipolar or schizophrenia, and their have been reports that she's on drugs and is not taking her medication. Looking at this video is saddening, and whoever taped this and put it on the internet should be ashamed of themselves for trying to exploit her like this...Check the video:

Mental disease and all...You have to admit she's funny as hell....

"Asking me all these questions...You don't know that much sh*t about ya momma b*tch".

"Pay me to know me mothafucka..."

What this really looks like to me is some cornball ass N*ggas (because they're ignorant) taking advantage of a mentally sick person just for shits and giggles.

This video is beyond WACK (because of the purpose it was made, humiliation), but she wasn't having it.

On a brighter note she has some music that has leaked as recent as July 2009, if she can get some help she might be able to get her career back...

I pray that after seeing this some of her once celebrity co-stars and acquaintances come to her rescue and offer some help.

Maia you're in my prayers. Get better Mami.

POOKIE COME GET YO BABY MOMMA PLEASE!

This is what your baby momma was doing tonight when she left you home with the kids...

Is Whitney Back?

I might be the only one not too excited about Ms. Houston's "comeback" & after this video of her performing "Im Every Woman" in Central Park I know why. She sounds a mess. Looks like I'll be adding another one to the Mariah Carey list....

T-Pain with No Auto-Tune?

T-Pain recently performed Billy Jean in honor of the late Michael Jackson & he doesn't sound half bad...I mean I've heard worse...

Check it out:

btw it looks like T-Pain dropped a few pounds around the waist but added some to his face....grrrrrr

OH HELL NO!

I came across this video of a Beyonce fan performing in his bedroom to her hit "EGO", and I almost vomited in my mouth a little bit about...ohhhh...15 seconds into the video. Just take a look for yourself (I hope you can stomach it) and what is that shit on his legs???

Dirty Money Crew...Sneak Peek at Diddy's 'Angles' Music Video

Here's a sneak peek at Diddy and his new formed group "Dirty Money Crew" (Dawn Richard from Danity Kane, and singer/songwriter Kalenna) video for his first single off his new album "Last Train to Paris",scheduled for release in the U.S. November 24th. (I'm feeling the brown skin movement)

Check it out:

Sidebar: I heard Diddy had to go back in the studio and revamp his album, which is completely auto-tuned after Def Jam Prez Jay-Z put out his D.O.A track.

Here's some more New music from DIDDY and crew called "Love Come Down"

I'm not really feeling this one, but maybe with over saturation on radio airwaves throughout the country it might have a chance of growing on me...prolly not. I think Diddy needs to go back and holla at Ryan Leslie for some beats because this one ain't it!

Damn! damn! DAMN!

I had a hard time doing this post because I couldn't keep my eyes off of this sexy creation of a man...The Lord said it's wrong to lust, but pfffff how could you not?

Check out the photos from singer Trey Songz latest photoshoot:

DAMN! Not only does he have body but this man can SANG!

Trey's new album READY is in stores now....Ya'll betta go cop that!

Fabulously Preggo

America's Next Top Model season 5 runner up (she should have won) Nik, just recently gave birth to a baby boy, and her are some photos from her Essence magazine shoot, just weeks before delivering...

Congratulations! You betta work it Mama!

Oh shut up Earl....

Rapper DMX, just joined the "I have no respect for Jay-Z anymore" brigade in this new video that leaked...

I've never been a big "Jigga" fan, and I love DMX, but sometimes he's just better off somewhere singing "Where my Dogs at".
